Description:

• Provide 3rd and 4th level cloud database support for complex issues (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Participate in and manage database related projects, database security patching audits, and compliance reviews and testing.
• Develop new and update existing database technology related documentation as needed.
• Provide technical leadership for all aspects of database management such as database lifecycle management, monitoring, support, disaster recovery, compliance, and standards.
• Research, benchmark, and suggest improvements to database support processes, customer experience (CX) improvements, and compliance requirements.

Research new cloud database versions (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), features, tools, and technologies with an Enterprise perspective to meet customer needs while maintaining a secure database environment.

• Coach and communicate information to Caterpillar’s application support teams and peers across the enterprise on cloud technology changes, new features, key projects, and customer experience improvements.
• Participate in customer driven and Division/department projects providing Database Management consultancy services.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Mandatory

Experience on managing Cloud Native Databases like AWS Aurora, AWS RDS databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Proven field support experience on PaaS databases in Azure and or AWS

Mandatory (minimum of 12 months)

Active participation on from on-premises to cloud migration projects (example: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

Mandatory (minimum of 05 projects / minimum of 03 months duration)

Experience on doing cross platform migrations from Oracle or MySQL or MSSQL to Community editions of MySQL / PostgreSQL
