About the Company

Credit Saison Co. Ltd. (CS) is a large Japanese non-bank with an AUM of USD30bn engaging in credit card issuing/acquiring, SME financing, real estate financing, and various Fintech investments and alternative finance. Over the recent years, Credit Saison has been successfully ramping up its private debt investments in Southeast Asia and India, offering senior debt capital to new age lenders, Fintech startups, and tech platforms (embedded finance) with a primary focus on the tech-led innovation and financial inclusion.

In February 2023, Credit Saison Brazil Participacoes Sociedade Limitada (CSBR) was established as a subsidiary with the aim of expanding its business in the country by targeting FIDC quota investments.


About the Role

The person will provide trusted support and advice to the Country Manager Brazil on People and Culture matters, responsible for leading and building up the company’s HR. We are looking for someone who has the mindset to appreciate diversity, agility to work in a fast-paced environment, drive for continuous improvement and results, and is a self-starter, self-learner & self-contributor while being a collaborative team player and strong leader.


Responsibilities

Maintain dual reporting to relevant person at CSBR & HR team at international headquarter in Singapore, coordinate with internal & external stakeholders (e.g. law firm, recruiter, HR consulting firm, other teams at CSBR) and responsible for the People and Culture strategy and operations to unlock the best in our people to drive business outcomes. The scope includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Clarify requirement by labour regulation and implement solutions (e.g. CLT vs PJ, trusted position vs non-trusted position, paid vacation control)
  • Develop and execute strategic People roadmap, action plan and measurements, with immediate focus on understanding the market and sharpening the employer value proposition, benchmarking, compensation structure and benefits program such as ESOP
  • Overseas HR operations, focusing on the accuracy and process efficiency, such as reimbursement of staff claims and payroll
  • Develop and maintain HR-related internal policies and SOPs
  • Overseas HR vendors management, such as service delivery standards
  • Supervise juniors on day-to-day basis and develop the team capability
  • Lead or participate in relevant People & Culture global projects
  • Manage any other ad-hoc tasks assigned


Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in HR field
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Portuguese & English (CEFR C1 or above)
  • Able to commute to the office in Sao Paulo a few times a week
  • An independent self-starter, able to take initiatives and be accountable for work assigned as a problem solver, not a critic
  • Experience coordinating with external service providers including law firms, HR consulting firms and recruiters
  • Can manage conflict between individuals & the company and provide balanced opinions
  • Excellent academics and in-house experience
  • Proven ability to multi-task with high attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office package
  • Able to adapt quickly with fluidity of mindset
  • Ability and willingness to think outside the box and explore innovative solutions
  • Happy & sunny personalities and enjoy working in a small team
