To support its expansion, John Deere is building a new team in Brazil to manage the entire database infrastructure, focusing on SQL and Oracle Database.
This team will drive innovation through Self-Service (enabling greater access and usability), Optimization (improving performance and efficiency), and Autonomous Operations (leveraging automation for scalability and reliability).As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in transforming and innovating Distributed Database Platforms.
Your work will align with John Deere s vision of delivering highly automated, AI-driven, and cloud-enabled data platforms, enhancing infrastructure solutions for better customer experiences.
A key responsibility is maintaining quality and security by design, implementing best practices that uphold governance, security, and performance standards.This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud platforms to develop intuitive, self-healing, and optimized database solutions.
You will collaborate across global teams, working across full technology stacks to solve enterprise-scale challenges, drive technology adoption, and influence change within a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development - Design and implement scalable backend solutions for SQL and Oracle automation.Database Platform Architecture - Define and build the foundation for a next-gen database platform.API & AI Integration - Develop APIs and integrate AI-driven automation for enhanced performance.Cloud & DevOps - Ensure cloud readiness using containers, microservices, and CI/CD.Technology Integration - Work on seamless adoption of new technologies within existing systems.Strategic Contribution - Help shape the team s vision and long-term database automation strategy.Autonomy & Proactivity - Take initiative, adapt to changes, and go beyond assigned tasks.Main Challenges and AssignmentsDesign and build distributed database platforms to enhance the customer experience.Define and drive innovative architectural solutions for platforms, customer interactions, and database products.Align with the Product Pillars (Autonomous Operations and Optimization), ensuring effective integration into the platform.Leverage AI to enhance systems and optimize processes as a Self-Service Product.Shape the architecture and platform, including decisions around low-level configurations.Ensure quality and security are integral to all processes and solutions.Collaborate across teams to solve complex problems and implement cutting-edge technologies.Experience & QualificationsProficiency in backend languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with experience developing RESTful APIs.Familiarity with DBMS technologies, including SQLServer, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, with experience in containers and microservices.Proven experience leveraging security and lean development principles such as CI/CD pipelines for scalability and continuous delivery.Ability to understand and work with APIs, AI prompts, and data contexts to ensure seamless integration across systems.Strong ability to integrate with existing technologies while defining new integration approaches.Differential: Experience with full-stack design patterns, Machine Learning, AI, or GenAI using large language models.Differential: Experience designing and building multi-cloud solutions.Bachelor s degree or higher in an engineering field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Technology, etc.).Advanced/Fluent English to report and collaborate in an international environment.Location: Indaiatuba, SPHybrid role 3x a week at the office.SE 510723450
