Asenium is seeking a highly skilled Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer to join our client s global data engineering team.
Location: Brazil (Mandatory location, 100{20cff521aa8be63d197b092c0e76f560278e718f8c0074be1d9a119d3912e1f8} Remote)Contract: 6 months (Freelance)Start Date: ASAPKey Responsibilities:Develop scalable backend components in Kotlin with a strong focus on performance and maintainability.Design and integrate APIs, including OpenAPI and webhooks.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Product, UI, and Engineering.Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical best practices and guidelines.Troubleshoot, test, and debug backend systems, ensuring high reliability.Write and maintain clean, well-documented code and unit tests.Participate in architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.Must-Have Skills:5+ years of backend development experience, with strong Kotlin proficiency.Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.Advanced understanding of SQL and database fundamentals.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automation.Solid grasp of asynchronous programming (e.g., Kotlin Coroutines).Fluent English communication skills (written & spoken).Nice to Have:Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS).Familiarity with data streaming tools such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark-Streaming.Interested?
