Powertrain Systems Requirements Engineer - Shape the Future of Mobility KPIT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Powertrain Systems Requirements Engineer to join our growing team You will play a critical role in defining the next generation of powertrain solutions for a diverse range of applications including ships, trains, trucks, and cars.
If you have a passion for combustion engines, emission control, and a knack for precise requirement documentation, we want to hear from you About the Role:As a Powertrain Systems Requirements Engineer, you will be solely focused on the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of system requirements.
You ll collaborate closely with onsite counterparts and clients to ensure clear, complete, and testable requirements are defined forming the foundation for successful powertrain development.
This role does not involve implementation or validation activities.Responsibilities:Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Lead the gathering and analysis of system requirements, working directly with clients and stakeholders.Requirements Documentation: Develop and finalize detailed technical profiles and system requirements specifications.System Decomposition & Analysis: Analyze input documents and high-level feature diagrams, decompose complex functions into manageable sub-functions, and ensure compatibility with overall system architecture.Requirements Traceability: Ensure clear traceability of requirements throughout the development lifecycle.Collaboration & Communication: Participate in daily stand-up meetings and status calls with customers, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Artifact Review: Participate in reviews of requirements-related artifacts to ensure quality and completeness.What You ll Bring:Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science.Experience: 5+ years of experience in the automotive or related domain.Powertrain Expertise: Strong knowledge of conventional powertrain systems (Ship, Train, Truck, Cars) and a solid understanding of after-treatment technologies.Systems Engineering: Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering principles, engine control systems, and performance control strategies.Requirements Management: Proven experience in system-level requirement writing and specification.Modeling & Simulation: Familiarity with MATLAB/SIMULINK is a plus.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English C1 level or higher).Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Protocol Knowledge: Experience with CAN, SPI, UART, or I2C protocols is a plus.Tools: Familiarity with PTC Integrity Tool (or equivalent) is a plus.M-Scripting: Basic knowledge of M-scripting.Why KPIT?At KPIT, we champion innovation and empower our employees to make a real impact.
