Project Details: Remote | Freelance | 6-month project Work hours: 20:00 04:00 (PT time)At emagine Portugal we re currently looking for a Linux System Administrator with a proactive mindset and a passion for cloud migration.
This role is to support a strategic migration project to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will be part of a high-impact team and help transition critical workloads to the cloud remotely, during quiet hours.Project Scope: You will be part of a core migration team responsible for moving application servers to GCP, with a strong focus on RockyLinux 9 environments.
Your work will include command execution, crontab validation, log analysis, and troubleshooting all done during night shifts, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.Must-Have Requirements: Solid experience in Linux system administration (RockyLinux, Red Hat, or CentOS).Basic knowledge or hands-on exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Strong command line (shell) skills.Experience with crontab validation, log file analysis, and error diagnostics.Availability to work from 20:00 to 04:00 (Portugal time).A self-starter attitude and ability to work autonomously.Proficiency in English (spoken and written).Nice-to-Have:Familiarity with IngresDB.Past involvement in server/application migration projects.Soft Skills: Proactive in identifying and solving technical issues.Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.Capable of creating clear and concise technical documentation and reports.
